Jeonnam Job Policy Headquarters Takes the Lead in Proactively Addressing Regional Extinction Crisis
Regional-Led Youth Job Project Briefing Session Held
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Jeonnam Provincial Job Policy Headquarters (Head Lee Geonseop) announced on the 26th that it recently held the ‘2022 Jeollanam-do Region-Led Youth Job Project Briefing Session’ to proactively respond to the crisis of regional extinction.
The event, held at Naju Jungheung Gold Spa & Resort, was hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and Jeonnam Province, and organized by the Jeonnam Environmental Industry Promotion Agency (Director Park Eungryeol).
About 60 people attended, including youth job officials from 22 cities and counties in Jeonnam, the Eco-friendly Agricultural Life Research Center (Director Lee Seungje), Jeonnam Technopark (Director Yoo Dongguk), Jeonnam Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency (Director Lee Jungeun), and the Green Energy Research Institute (Director Joo Dongsik), which are youth job implementing organizations.
Kim Yangjung, the youth job officer, explained the seven new projects Jeonnam Province will promote next year: ▲Renewable Energy Apprenticeship Employment Package (150 youth jobs) ▲Jeonnam Youth TOON Job (150 jobs) ▲Data Science Expert Training (150 jobs) ▲Carbon Neutral Smart Green Project (150 jobs) ▲Jeonnam Youth Challenge Startup Support Project (300 jobs) ▲Jeonnam Youth Startup Follow-up Program (30 jobs) ▲Big Data-Based Online Marketer Workforce Training Support Project (200 jobs). These projects relate to regional innovation growth promotion type, win-win foundation response type, and regional inclusion type.
Nah Soyoung, youth job team leader, also conducted a Q&A session regarding job implementation guidelines.
Choi Jungwoon, head of Jeonnam Province’s Job Economy Division, said, “We gained confidence that youth job creation can prevent the problem of regional extinction,” adding, “This year, 59 billion KRW was invested in the region-led youth job project to create 2,100 youth jobs, and next year, with an additional 10.4 billion KRW in national funds secured, we will be able to create more than 1,100 new youth jobs.”
He continued, “Youth jobs will transform Jeonnam anew in addressing the problem of regional extinction,” promising, “We will spare no support for the 22 city and county officials and implementing organizations.”
