Korea Rail Network Authority Completes Electrification of Gyeongui Line 'Imjingang Station~Dorasan Station'

View original image[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 27th that it has completed the electrification work on the Gyeongui Line section from Imjingang Station to Dorasan Station (3.7 km) and will open it.
The electrification project was carried out with a budget of 34.8 billion KRW to upgrade the existing tracks and expand Dorasan Station.
Through this, shuttle electric trains, which had not been operated on this section until now, can now run. The shuttle electric trains will be extended to Dorasan Station.
Meanwhile, the Rail Network Authority restored the Gyeongui Line section from Munsan to Imjingang to Panmun to Kaesong (27.3 km) in accordance with the 2000 inter-Korean agreement.

Among these, the non-electrified section from Munsan Station to Imjingang Station (6 km) completed electrification ahead of the Imjingang to Dorasan section in March last year, and currently operates shuttle electric trains twice on weekdays and four times on holidays for round trips.
