NSC Standing Committee Meeting Held Under the Chairmanship of Seo Hoon, Director of the National Security Office
[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] The Blue House announced on the 25th, "A meeting of the NSC Standing Committee was held under the chairmanship of National Security Office Director Suh Hoon," adding, "Participants reviewed the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula and its surroundings, and agreed to continue efforts to promptly resume dialogue with North Korea based on close coordination between South Korea and the United States, including recent deputy foreign minister talks."
Additionally, the Blue House stated, "The 2021 Seoul UN Peacekeeping Ministerial Meeting (December 7-8), the highest-level meeting in the field of UN peacekeeping operations (PKO), will be held for the first time in Asia and will be the largest ever. Accordingly, we will actively cooperate with the international community to strengthen the capabilities of UN peacekeeping operations, including advanced technology and medical support, in line with our elevated international status."
Meanwhile, the Blue House said, "NSC Standing Committee participants noted that the Panmunjom tour, which will resume next week (November 30), will be a good opportunity for the public to personally experience the realities and peace sites of the Korean Peninsula," adding, "We will gradually expand opportunities for Panmunjom tours in line with the phased recovery of daily life."
