[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Hanshin Engineering & Construction is supplying a mammoth complex of 2,200 households in Pohang, Gyeongbuk.
Hanshin Engineering & Construction announced on the 25th that it has opened the model house for ‘Pohang Hanshin The Hue Penta City,’ being built in Penta City, Buk-gu, Pohang, and has officially started sales. This is the first complex supplied after the company renewed the ‘Hanshin The Hue’ brand.
The complex consists of 15 buildings with 2,192 households, ranging from 3 basement floors to a maximum of 29 floors above ground. The complex is divided into two blocks: A2 Block consists of 1,120 households of 84㎡ (exclusive area) and 477 households of 99㎡, and A4 Block consists of 595 households of 84㎡.
Penta City, where the complex is located, is the first free economic zone established in Pohang. On a site of approximately 1.47 million square meters, a convergence technology research and development (R&D) hub for advanced technology development and industrialization will be built. The goal is to attract about 250 companies, creating 5,500 jobs and generating an economic ripple effect of 830 billion KRW.
KTX Pohang Station is located just 10 minutes away by car from the complex, and the Donghae Jungbu Line connecting Pohang and Samcheok will open next year. The abundant demand from companies moving into Penta City as well as from POSCO, Pohang Technopark, Pohang General Industrial Complex, and Steel Industrial Complex is also an advantage.
There is an elementary school and a planned kindergarten site right in front of the complex, and efforts to attract an international school within Penta City are underway, which is another positive factor.
Each unit’s floor plan is designed mainly with 4-bay slab-type layouts preferred by consumers and arranged mainly facing south to enhance lighting and ventilation.
Since it is a non-regulated area, anyone who has held a subscription savings account for at least six months can apply for the first priority subscription, including homeowners and household members. There is no need for a funding plan, and pre-sale before registration is possible, which is also an advantage. The company supports interest-free loans for the entire interim payment.

An official from the sales industry predicted, “With Penta City’s high future value and the symbolism of being the largest large-scale complex, it will establish itself as a landmark complex representing the region.” Special supply applications will be accepted on the 8th of next month, followed by first priority on the 9th and second priority on the 10th. Move-in is scheduled for December 2024.
