Hampyeong-gun Begins Purchasing Remaining 13,616 Tons of Common Rice
Support for Farmers: Podadang Sindongjin 1500 Won, Saecheongmu and Hopyeong 1000 Won
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County will actively promote the purchase of regular rice by implementing a subsidy program to encourage the shipment of regular rice in order to resolve the remaining quantity after purchasing the 2021 public stockpiled rice.
According to the county on the 25th, the expected rice production volume increased by about 18% compared to the previous year, leaving a large amount of surplus even after purchasing the public stockpiled rice.
Accordingly, the county will purchase the remaining quantity of regular rice produced in local farmland through agreements with Hampyeong Nonghyup Rice Cooperative Corporation (Integrated RPC), local Nonghyup branches, and rice mills.
The county plans to invest about 440 million KRW of county funds to support farmers with 1,500 KRW per sack for Sindongjin rice and 1,000 KRW per sack for Saechungmu and Hopyeong rice.
The total purchase volume is 13,616 tons (8,528 tons of Sindongjin, 5,088 tons of Saechungmu and Hopyeong), with about 10,720 tons purchased so far, and the remaining quantity is planned to be purchased by the end of December.
