After sharing the lead with world No. 2 Collin Morikawa (USA), McIlroy suffered bad luck on the 15th hole (par 4) when his second shot hit the pin and landed in a bunker. Following consecutive bogeys on holes 15 and 16, he lost another stroke on the final 18th hole (par 5), costing him his 15th European Tour victory. Meanwhile, Morikawa surged with a 6-under-par round to claim a 3-stroke victory (17-under-par 271 strokes). The winner’s prize money was $3 million (approximately 3.57 billion KRW).
