Wando-gun Takes First Step Toward Mutual Development with Miryang-si

Signing of Friendly Exchange City Business Agreement, Committing to Discover and Promote Various Exchange Projects

[Wando＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Kyung-pil] Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Shin Woo-cheol) announced on the 23rd that it signed a business agreement with Miryang-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, based on mutual trust and friendship for win-win development and joint prosperity.

The agreement ceremony was held in the small conference room of Miryang City Hall, and 20 people attended, including Shin Woo-cheol, Governor of Wando-gun, Park Il-ho, Mayor of Miryang, Heo Gung-hee, Chairman of Wando-gun Council, and Hwang Geol-yeon, Chairman of Miryang City Council.

Both cities agreed to mutually cooperate in various fields such as economy, culture, arts, and tourism by utilizing excellent local resources.

Going forward, the county plans to discover and promote diverse and broad exchange projects, including the promotion of local specialties, in cooperation with Miryang City to increase residents' income and regional development.

Governor Shin Woo-cheol said, “I feel meaningful and pleased to take the first step as a partner for win-win development and joint prosperity with Miryang City, which has established itself as a central city in Gyeongsangnam-do,” adding, “For exchanges to be activated, the interest and enthusiasm of both local government heads are important, so I will make great efforts.”

Mayor Park Il-ho of Miryang said, “I am looking forward to what kind of exchanges will continue after signing a friendship exchange city business agreement with Wando-gun, which has high development potential,” and added, “I hope to promote various projects that leverage the strengths of both cities to grow together.”
