Daejeon City Joint Inspection of Designated Vehicle Comprehensive Inspection Repair Shops
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 23rd that it will conduct the "2021 Second Half Comprehensive Vehicle Inspection Designated Maintenance Business Joint Inspection" from the 24th to next month’s 10th.
The joint inspection will be carried out by the city, the Korea Transportation Safety Authority Daejeon·Sejong·Chungnam Headquarters, and the Daejeon Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Business Association, targeting 42 designated comprehensive vehicle inspection maintenance companies within Daejeon.
The main inspection items include ▲ compliance with inspection methods ▲ securing technical personnel ▲ proper operation of inspection facility standards ▲ management status of inspection equipment and facility designation standards ▲ whether inspection scenes and results are unrecorded, among others.
In particular, the city plans to conduct focused inspections by sampling companies based on specific issues such as those with excessively high inspection pass rates in the third quarter or insufficient inspection performance, companies with frequent complaints, companies with relatively frequent changes in technical personnel or where the representative is registered as an inspector, and companies with a significantly high ratio of cargo vehicle (diesel vehicle) inspections.
For minor violations, on-site corrective actions and improvement recommendations will be made, and if poor inspections such as legal violations are found, strong administrative measures will be taken according to relevant laws, along with strengthening occasional inspections to prevent recurrence.
Earlier, during the joint inspection in the first half of the year, the city took on-site corrective actions for 12 cases in five areas including inspection site environment maintenance, and implemented facility improvement measures for 5 cases in two areas such as poor camera quality for inspection scene recording and failure to replace the designated signboard following a business name change.
