Gyeongsang National University Master's Student Kim Seongheon Receives Excellent Paper Presentation Award
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Gyeongsang National University announced on the 22nd that Kim Seongheon, a master's student in the Department of Nano New Materials Convergence Engineering, received the Excellent Paper Presentation Award at the '2021 Korean Institute of Industrial Chemistry Fall General Meeting and Academic Conference' held at Daegu EXCO.
Kim Seongheon presented a paper titled "Manufacture and Characterization of High-Performance Polybenzimidazole Nanocomposites," receiving the Excellent Paper Presentation Award, demonstrating the excellence of his research. The paper presented interim results of a study jointly conducted with Airrain for the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's materials and components technology development project.
Polybenzimidazole is a material not yet commercialized in Korea, known as a super engineering polymer with excellent heat resistance and chemical resistance. Through a new synthesis method, it is expected to be applied as a gas separation membrane, heat-resistant fiber, and chemically resistant engineering material.
Kim said, "I am pleased that my research achievements were recognized at the Korean Institute of Industrial Chemistry Fall Academic Conference, a representative academic conference in Korea for chemical-related research. This motivates me to continue dedicating myself to new material research, and I will strive to become a more diligent researcher."
