A man in his 50s arrested in Mokpo, Jeonnam for repeatedly robbing stores while driving a stolen imported car
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Mokpo Police Station in Jeonnam announced on the 21st that they have arrested a man in his late 50s, Mr. A, on charges including theft under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes, for repeatedly burglarizing commercial establishments while driving a stolen imported car.
Mr. A is accused of stealing goods worth about 10 million won from 10 commercial establishments in downtown Mokpo during late-night hours over the past three months.
It is known that he used an imported car with changed license plates for the crimes, and investigations revealed that both the imported car and the license plates were stolen.
The imported car, valued at about 50 million won, was stolen in August from a showroom in the Seoul area, where he pretended to test drive it and then drove the car to Mokpo to escape.
