Man in his 50s sentenced to prison for stabbing ex-girlfriend with a weapon, arrested for stalking after release
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man in his 50s, who was sentenced to prison for stabbing his ex-girlfriend with a weapon, was caught by the police for stalking her again after his release.
According to the police on the 21st, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul has booked and is investigating Mr. A (57) on charges of violating the Stalking Punishment Act and other offenses.
Mr. A is accused of stalking his former partner Ms. B by visiting her residence at around 7:10 PM the previous day.
In August 2017, Mr. A was charged with attempted murder for stabbing Ms. B with a weapon and was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months in prison. He was released in February of this year after serving his sentence.
Ms. B had changed her name and address, but Mr. A discovered this after his release and stalked her. It is reported that Ms. B did not request personal protection related to the stalking incident.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated that he visited because he wanted to talk.
