Austria Imposes 10-Day Lockdown and Vaccine Mandate

According to major foreign media on the 19th (local time), Austria announced a nationwide lockdown as the number of new COVID-19 cases surged.
On that day, Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg announced that a nationwide lockdown would begin on the 22nd for 10 days. If the number of confirmed cases does not come under control, the lockdown may be extended up to 20 days.
Additionally, Chancellor Schallenberg stated that COVID-19 vaccination will be mandatory starting February 1 next year.
In Austria, the number of new COVID-19 cases has been breaking records daily, with a sharp increase in patients. The previous day recorded a new high of 15,145 confirmed cases.
