According to the county on the 19th, the meeting served as an opportunity to share and communicate about the current military and eup administrative pending projects related to Ilro-eup, and discussed regional development plans. The agenda item to establish ‘Ilro-eup Residents' Day’ was put forward and approved unanimously by all attending members.
Kim Chan-il, president of the Ilro-eup Prosperity Association, stated in his opening remarks, “Ilro-eup has a deep cultural and historical heritage along with the Yeongsan River, the lifeline of the southern provinces. With the development of the Oryong district, it is a region with great potential and infinite development ahead. To raise the status of Ilro-eup and create an opportunity for residents' unity and regional development, let us establish ‘Ilro-eup Residents' Day.’”
Additionally, a proclamation ceremony to commemorate the establishment of ‘Ilro-eup Residents' Day’ on the 1st of next month is planned to be held under the auspices of the Prosperity Association.
Meanwhile, Ilro-eup was promoted from Ilro-myeon to eup on December 1, 1980, marking its 41st anniversary this year.
