[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Samsung Electronics has sold more than 30 million TVs through the third quarter of this year, steadily heading toward its 16th consecutive year as the global market share leader.
According to market research firm Omdia on the 19th, Samsung Electronics' TV sales from the first to the third quarter of this year totaled 30.84 million units. Its market share based on revenue was 30.2%, and based on volume was 20.6%, marking 16 consecutive years at number one since 2006.

In particular, Samsung Electronics' QLED product sales, led by Neo QLED, increased by 24.8% year-on-year to 6.29 million units cumulatively through the third quarter. It is expected to comfortably achieve this year's sales target of 10 million units.
Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics together accounted for about half of the global TV market share, successfully holding their ground despite strong challenges from Chinese companies. Based on revenue, their combined market share through the third quarter was 49.0%, with Samsung at 30.2% and LG at 18.8%.
