'Electronic Monitoring Bracelet Tampering and Serial Murder' Attorney Kang Yunseong Submits Resignation Letter
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] The attorney of Kang Yoon-sung (56), who was arrested and indicted on charges of damaging an electronic ankle bracelet and murdering two women, has submitted a letter of resignation.
According to the legal community on the 19th, Kang's lawyer submitted the resignation letter to the Seoul Eastern District Court Criminal Division 12 (Presiding Judge Park Sang-gu) the day before.
Earlier, Kang submitted a consent form for a citizen trial to the Eastern District Court on the 2nd of this month. This reversed his previous stance expressed at the first trial on the 14th of last month, when he said he did not want a citizen trial. Then, at the trial preparation hearing on the 9th, he stated, "There are many exaggerated contents in the indictment," and "I will face the citizen trial head-on."
