Mirae Asset Life Insurance Obtains Preliminary Approval for MyData License
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Mirae Asset Life Insurance announced on the 19th that it has obtained a preliminary license for the MyData business from the Financial Services Commission.
The MyData business involves collecting and managing credit information scattered across multiple financial institutions in one place with the consent of the credit information subject, the customer. Financial companies can then provide customized financial services to customers based on this data. With the passage of the amended Credit Information Act in the National Assembly early last year, new business entry opportunities have opened, and the MyData service is scheduled to be fully implemented starting January next year.
Mirae Asset Life Insurance has prepared for the license application by forming a company-wide task force from the first half of this year to plan services for entering the MyData business. Taking this preliminary license acquisition as an opportunity, the company plans to promptly pursue the acquisition of the full MyData license.
By obtaining the MyData business qualification, Mirae Asset Life Insurance plans to provide various customer-centric services such as asset management and retirement management tailored to the characteristics of the insurance industry, as well as health management. Additionally, the company plans to expand services to upgrade customer experience by continuously partnering with non-financial sector businesses and fintech companies.
