Space is Wide and Speed is 'Rapid'... Kosin University Hospital Introduces 'Signa Architect' MRI
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Kosin University Gospel Hospital has significantly upgraded its equipment.
Kosin University Gospel Hospital held an opening ceremony on the 18th for the latest GE model magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment, the Signa Architect 3.0 Premium.
The hospital introduced radiology equipment to reduce examination waiting times and improve diagnostic environments.
The Signa Architect offers a bore 30% wider than previous equipment, providing a comfortable examination environment for patients who felt claustrophobic in the previously narrow space or for those with larger body sizes. The equipment also reduces noise that caused discomfort through its Silent Scan function.
Latest technologies such as a 16-channel Flexible Coil and Auto Navigator are installed in the equipment. Additionally, it uses a high number of channels and coils, 128 channels, to quickly display high-resolution images without loss.
Hong Gwan-pyo, Director of Radiology, said, “With the Fast Brain function, the examination time has been reduced from the previous 35-40 minutes to about 20 minutes, and for emergency patients, from 10 minutes to the 2-minute range.”
