Jeonbuk Province Conducts Comprehensive Maintenance of Private Public Restrooms
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonbuk Province announced on the 18th that it will carry out a comprehensive maintenance of public restrooms until the 26th to enable residents to conveniently use privately opened restrooms.
Public restrooms refer to restrooms designated to be opened in agreement with the building owner for user convenience, according to Article 9 of the Public Restroom Act.
Currently, a total of 223 locations are designated in Jeonbuk.
Facilities designated as public restrooms are to be operated regularly or at fixed times according to city and county ordinances.
Signage must be installed to allow users to easily identify them.
Jeonbuk Province has established self-inspection plans for each city and county to check △ installation of signage △ compliance with opening hours △ provision of convenience items and installation of safety facilities (emergency bells, CCTV, etc.) △ separation of male and female entrances.
Facilities found lacking will be guided and improved.
Additionally, based on inspection results and considering the location and necessity of the public restrooms, if they do not meet the designation purpose, the designation will be canceled and new designations reviewed to ensure public restrooms operate appropriately in suitable locations.
