Jeonju-si Geumam, Inhu, and Songcheon Libraries Reorganized as Open Creative Libraries
Open-Type Creative Library Construction Project Enters Final Stage
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 18th that the open creative library creation project, which has been underway since March at Geumam, Inhu, and Songcheon Libraries, has entered its final stage.
The open creative library creation project focuses on transforming the existing aging and standardized libraries into creative spaces that reflect the characteristics of each library, turning them into book playgrounds with play and relaxation where citizens can comfortably visit.
Currently, Pyeonghwa Library and Samcheon Library have reopened as open creative libraries, and by early next year, with the creation of open creative libraries at Geumam, Inhu, and Songcheon Libraries, the total number will increase to five.
Geumam Library, scheduled to be completed by the end of this year, will utilize its advantage of overlooking the downtown area to create a space where books and art harmonize, offering beautiful views and artworks. Inhu Library will be transformed into a space where books and films coexist, reflecting Jeonju’s identity as the city of the Jeonju International Film Festival.
Additionally, Songcheon Library, scheduled to open early next year with the theme of ‘family,’ will be restructured into a library for everyone by expanding the infant and children’s rooms, creating a YouTube space for the MZ generation, and establishing a book resting area and a book caf? for the parent generation.
Jeonju City plans to start the open creative library creation project at three more locations next year: Seosin, Jjokgureum, and Hyoja Libraries.
During the project implementation, meetings will be held to collect citizens’ opinions.
