The resulting production inducement effect is expected to be 10.9974 trillion won, the value-added inducement effect 4.8101 trillion won, and the creation of 80,390 jobs.
According to the province on the 19th, in the Baekdudaegan area (Taebaek, Hongcheon, Pyeongchang, Jeongseon, Inje), 793.3 billion won will be invested in 23 projects to revitalize the economy and secure tourism competitiveness in five cities and counties under the vision of a "Global Greenbelt where nature and people harmonize."
Among the eight core projects, the "Baekdudaegan Area Cultural Railway Station Linkage Cooperation Project" is currently selected as a new project for the development of coastal and inland areas by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and is underway.
The "National Road No. 31 (Inje~Inje Speedway) Improvement Project" passed the preliminary feasibility study by the Ministry of Economy and Finance in August and was reflected in the comprehensive development plan.
In the inland advanced industrial area (Wonju, Hoengseong, Yeongwol), with the vision of "Center of Future Advanced Industry, Leading Area of National Innovation Growth," 1.5952 trillion won has been allocated to promote 21 projects to foster an advanced industry hub and a cultural tourism base based on regional assets.
To this end, efforts are being made to innovate future new industries and secure historical and cultural tourism zones by establishing infrastructure for developing micro electric vehicle parts and creating tourist roads in the inland advanced industrial area.
In the East Coast area (Gangneung, Donghae, Sokcho, Samcheok, Goseong, Yangyang), six cities and counties have a total project cost of 6.7636 trillion won and 27 projects planned to create a "Sustainable East Sea Blue Power Belt."
Three core projects have been designated, including the East Coast Liquefied Hydrogen Cluster, East Coast Coastal Scenic Road, and East Sea Marine Medical Healing Center, and full-scale promotion has begun to achieve prompt results.
Earlier, the province reflected the extension of the "Coastal and Inland Development Act" validity period (2020→2030), and after conducting demand surveys by region, submitted the planning of super-regional cooperation projects and individual project feasibility reviews to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced the finalized contents on the 18th after deliberation by the National Land Policy Committee on the amendment of the comprehensive development plan for coastal and inland areas.
