The event, held on the 17th at the auditorium of the Seongdong-gu Youth Support Center, was attended by Lee Sang-hak, Head of KT&G’s Sustainability Management Division (Vice President), Nam Kang-woo, Director of the Welfare Bureau of Seongdong-gu Office, as well as KT&G employees, resident companies of Sangsang Planet, Seongdong-gu Youth Support Center, and volunteers from Seongdong Peace House, totaling about 30 people.
The 900 kg of kimchi, made directly by the volunteers that day, will be delivered to about 300 households, including single-person youth households who find it difficult to prepare kimchi on their own.
A KT&G official said, “We delivered kimchi to vulnerable groups to spread a culture of sharing in preparation for the upcoming winter season,” adding, “We will continue to actively support efforts to spread warmth throughout local communities and create a warm society.”
Meanwhile, KT&G is strengthening its foundation for youth startup support to nurture future generations. In 2017, it introduced the ‘Sangsang Startup Camp’ to discover and nurture young people aspiring to start social innovation startups, and in July last year, it opened ‘Sangsang Planet,’ a youth startup exclusive space in Seongsu-dong Social Venture Valley with 128 designated seats and 24 independent offices.
