Gwangju Bank Declares 'Zero Emission' with 100% Electric and Hydrogen Vehicles for Business Use
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Gwangju Bank (President Song Jong-wook) announced that labor and management have joined the Ministry of Environment’s ‘K-EV100 (Korean Zero-Emission Vehicle Transition Project)’ campaign and declared to convert 100% of its company vehicles to electric and hydrogen vehicles by 2030.
The ‘K-EV100’ campaign is a project aimed at protecting the environment and strengthening ESG management by reducing exhaust emissions from internal combustion engine vehicles, requiring companies to convert their company vehicles to zero-emission vehicles by 2030.
Accordingly, Gwangju Bank expressed a strong commitment to practicing ESG management by installing electric vehicle charging facilities and converting some of its company vehicles to electric vehicles through the ‘K-EV100’ membership declaration ceremony, and announced plans to gradually proceed with a project to convert all company vehicles to eco-friendly electric vehicles in the future.
Song Jong-wook, President of Gwangju Bank, said, “By participating in the ‘K-EV100’ campaign and taking the lead in practicing ESG management, we will take the lead in environmental protection to respond to the climate crisis, and do our best to fulfill the role of Gwangju and Jeonnam’s representative bank so that eco-friendly management and green finance can spread throughout the local community, including local companies.”
Lee Sung-wook, Chairman of the Gwangju Bank Labor Union, also said, “We will work together to raise employees’ interest and participation in environmental protection and the realization of the core values of ESG management policies.”
