Trade Surplus of $1.349 Billion in Gwangju and Jeonnam Regions in October

The Gwangju-Jeonnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea International Trade Association announced the export-import trends for October on the 17th.
Gwangju showed a surplus of 657 million dollars, and Jeonnam showed a surplus of 692 million dollars.
Exports from the Gwangju area amounted to 1.33 billion dollars, a 0.1% increase compared to the same period last year, driven by strong semiconductor performance.
Exports to major countries such as the United States (-24.2%) and China (-10.2%) decreased compared to the same period last year, while exports to Singapore (95.2%) and Malaysia (44.0%) increased.
Imports rose by 9.2% to 670 million dollars.
Exports from the Jeonnam area increased by 89.3% to 4.16 billion dollars, and imports rose by 85.8% to 3.47 billion dollars.
