[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Hwang In-hong, the governor of Muju County, participated in the "National Practice Movement Challenge for Energy Saving (Energy Saving Challenge)."
The Energy Saving Challenge began on September 7th when 15 mayors and county governors, including Yang Seung-jo, governor of Chungcheongnam-do, called for practicing energy saving in daily life.
Governor Hwang, nominated by Kim Chung-seop, mayor of Gimcheon City, Gyeongbuk, expressed his commitment to energy saving through the challenge for "carbon neutrality practiced together, a clean Earth."
Governor Hwang also posted photos of his participation in the challenge on SNS such as Facebook, using hashtags like "#CoolerHeaterOFF!EnvironmentON! #CarbonNeutrality #CleanEarth" to encourage his followers to join.
Governor Hwang In-hong said, "Although everyone knows that climate change caused by global warming and fine dust is a crisis that will determine the fate of the Earth, I think the willingness to 'start with myself' is somewhat weak. Through this challenge, I will strive so that about 600 public officials and 23,000 residents can all participate in energy saving and practicing a clean Earth."
Governor Hwang In-hong of Muju County nominated Moon Jeong-woo, governor of Geumsan County, Jang Young-su, governor of Jangsu County, and Park Chan-joo, chairman of the Muju County Council, as the next participants in the Energy Saving Challenge.
