Mujugun Selected for 3 Projects in Jeonbuk Province Contest

[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju-gun announced on the 16th that three projects, including the Agricultural Product Commercialization Infrastructure Construction Project, the Rural Job Plus Center Construction Project, and the Saengsaeng Village Plus Project, were selected in the Jeonbuk Province public contest, securing a project budget of 1.04 billion KRW.
According to the county, the Agricultural Product Commercialization Infrastructure Construction Project, which involves a total project cost of over 800 million KRW, aims to supplement the functions of the Agricultural Product Distribution Center (APC), establish small-scale commercialization facilities, and expand joint sorting and shipment, and is expected to contribute to improving the commercial value of agricultural products and enhancing market bargaining power.
Muju-gun plans to build new collection and sorting centers for watermelons and grapes (Shine Muscat) at the Sanji Distribution Center in Seolcheon-myeon, significantly reducing distribution costs for farmers cultivating these crops.
Additionally, the Rural Job Plus Center Construction Project is expected to have a total budget of 220 million KRW, including 110 million KRW from provincial funds, and will promote job projects linked with agriculture and food, distribution and processing, the sixth industry, rural tourism, culture and arts, and related organizations.
Based on this, Muju-gun plans to continue the establishment of a job intermediary support organization hub that creates and discovers jobs in the rural vitality sector in 2022.
Furthermore, the Saengsaeng Village Plus Project will have a project budget of 21 million KRW, including 10 million KRW from provincial funds, and lifelong education will be provided to residents of Jungga Village in Jeoksang-myeon and Jang-an Village in Bunam-myeon.
Muju-gun expects this project to serve as a catalyst necessary for responding to the era of urban-rural convergence and coexistence and for promoting village communities and urban-rural exchange revitalization.
Hwang In-hong, the governor of Muju-gun, said, “These projects will serve as the foundation for making Muju truly Muju and for making residents happy, while also becoming a driving force for publicizing the framework of income agriculture. We will do our best, centered on the Rural Vitality Division, to carry out projects according to their original purposes and to achieve results that invigorate residents, villages, and income.”
