[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, will disclose the list of 64 high-amount and habitual local tax delinquents on the Muan-gun website and Jeollanam-do website on the 17th. The total amount of their delinquent taxes is approximately 2.4 billion KRW.

According to the county on the 16th, the disclosure targets are those who, as of January 1 this year, have local taxes (including deficits) overdue for more than one year from the date of occurrence, with an amount of 10 million KRW or more.

The disclosed information includes name, age, occupation, address, delinquent amount, and tax item. Those who have paid more than 50% of the delinquent amount or are currently filing appeals such as lawsuits are excluded.

Among the individuals on the disclosed list with large delinquent amounts, Mr. L, residing in Cheonggye-myeon, Muan-gun, has not paid 68 million KRW in local income tax (comprehensive income tax), and as a corporation, the agricultural corporation H Co., Ltd. has not paid 64 million KRW in acquisition tax.

Strong administrative regulations such as public disclosure of the list, travel bans, provision of credit information to financial institutions, and restrictions on licensed businesses will follow for these high-amount and habitual delinquents.

A county official stated, "Although there are many difficulties in collecting local taxes due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, we will pursue tax evaders to the end and focus all efforts on securing stable finances."

Meanwhile, Muan-gun plans to intensify collection activities until December, the period for comprehensive local tax delinquency cleanup, to do its best to establish a fair tax order.
