Mokpo Coast Guard Prepares Support Measures for Transporting College Entrance Exam Students in Island Areas
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] The Mokpo Maritime Police Station (Chief Im Jae-su) is preparing to support the safe transportation of examinees from island areas ahead of the 2022 College Scholastic Ability Test scheduled for the 18th.
According to Mokpo Maritime Police on the 16th, special emergency transportation measures have been established and implemented to ensure the safe transfer of high school examinees from the Sinan and Jindo areas moving to Mokpo (mainland) to take the college entrance exam.
The Maritime Police plan to deploy patrol vessels to directly transport examinees in case of adverse weather conditions preventing ferry operations or if examinees are subject to COVID-19 quarantine on the preliminary gathering day (17th) and the exam day (18th).
A Maritime Police official stated, “We will make every effort to ensure the smooth arrival of island area examinees at mainland test sites in preparation for any unforeseen circumstances such as maritime weather deterioration.”

Meanwhile, this year, a total of 61 examinees from island areas within the jurisdiction, including 54 from Sinan-gun Dochogodeung School and 7 from Jindo-gun Jodogodeung School, will take the exam at the test site set up in Mokpo.
