National Pension Service Receives 'Personnel Innovation Office Commendation' for Balanced Personnel Contributions
[Asia Economy Reporter So-yeon Park] The National Pension Service announced on the 16th that it received a commendation from the Ministry of Personnel Management at the '3rd Balanced Personnel Performance Sharing Conference' hosted by the Ministry on the 15th.
The Balanced Personnel Performance Sharing Conference is an event organized by the Ministry of Personnel Management since 2019 to discover and disseminate best practices in balanced personnel management such as gender equality, persons with disabilities, and local talent implemented by government, local governments, and public institutions. This year, due to COVID-19, it was held in a virtual space.
The Service was recognized for its contributions to balanced personnel management, including creating working conditions without career interruptions due to childcare and fostering female managers through customized education, receiving a commendation from the Ministry of Personnel Management.
The Service has made various efforts to improve service systems and foster a childcare culture shared by both women and men, as well as to cultivate female managers through customized competency development training.
They strengthened childcare support through active service improvements such as establishing child care leave and allowing couples to take parental leave simultaneously. Additionally, they discovered more jobs suitable for flexible working hours according to personal circumstances, achieving the result of hiring 13 call center counselors.
They also established a leadership specialization course (54.0% female educators) and provided overseas training opportunities (62.5% female) to foster global female talent, making efforts toward gender equality.
As a result, the proportion of female managers at grade 3 or higher was 29.8% (as of 2020), which is 3.4 percentage points higher than the average of 26.4% among all public institutions.
