LG Uplus Launches 'Hwanggeum Dosirak' Campaign to Support Small Business Owners and Children in Need
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] LG Uplus announced on the 16th that it will carry out the ‘Hwanggeum Dosirak’ campaign in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross to support small business owners and vulnerable children.
The Hwanggeum Dosirak campaign is a sharing activity that produces dosirak (lunchboxes) with small business owners and supports vulnerable children. LG Uplus will collect donations through the customer participation donation platform ‘Dojeon Bank’ until the 19th of next month, and during the winter vacation period early next year, it plans to produce dosirak with small business owners using the collected donations and deliver them to vulnerable children.
The Hwanggeum Dosirak campaign is the second With-Corona linked sharing activity following the QR check-in donation program using the PASS app.
Customers who wish to participate can select the ‘Support Small Business Challenge’ from the ‘Challenge’ menu of Dojeon Bank, then upload a certification photo taken at a local restaurant, such as an interior view or food photo, along with the store name and a support message. The reward earned for completing this task is 3,000 coins, which can be donated to donation destinations within the Dojeon Bank platform; 1 coin is equivalent to 1 Korean won.
After completing the challenge, donations to the Hwanggeum Dosirak campaign can be made by selecting ‘Hwanggeum Dosirak with LG Uplus’ from the ‘Donate’ menu. Rewards accumulated through other challenges besides the ‘Support Small Business Challenge’ can also be donated to the Hwanggeum Dosirak campaign.
LG Uplus plans to select 2 to 3 small shops in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross to produce dosirak, and Korean Red Cross volunteers will deliver the dosirak to vulnerable children in Yongsan-gu during the winter vacation period early next year.
