'Remote Work Continues After COVID-19' Hyundai Elevator Builds Smart Office
Seating Reduced to 65% of Original Capacity... Expansion of Collaboration and Rest Areas
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Hyundai Elevator announced on the 15th that it will transform all floors of its Seoul office located in the Hyundai Group Building in Jongno-gu, Seoul, into a smart office and implement a permanent remote work system.
Hyundai Elevator has maintained a remote work system since the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure employee safety and a stable management environment. To this end, it began sequentially introducing cloud-based work systems starting last year.
Recently, Hyundai Elevator completed the construction of a smart office (covering two floors) and plans to create an environment by the 19th of next month where more than 40% of all employees can work remotely even after COVID-19.
The newly established smart office is designed to expand communication among members by reducing existing seats to about 65% while creating a caf? and lounge area within the office. Autonomous seats, which individuals can select via kiosks or mobile applications, are diversified into table types, bar types, and group seats. Meeting rooms, expanded from 9-person to 16-person capacity, are equipped with systems such as smart TVs and video cameras to enable non-face-to-face video conferences.
