According to the quarantine authorities, Seoul city, and other local governments on the 13th, as of 6 p.m. from midnight, the total number of new nationwide COVID-19 confirmed cases was counted at 1,486. However, this figure excludes Busan, which does not release interim statistics among the 17 provinces nationwide.
Compared to 1,605 new confirmed cases at the same time the previous day, it decreased by 119, but it increased by 24 compared to 1,462 cases on the 6th, a week ago.
By region, 1,152 cases (77.5%) were in the metropolitan area, and 334 cases (22.5%) were in non-metropolitan areas.
By city and province, Seoul had the highest number with 647 cases. This was followed by Gyeonggi with 377 cases, Incheon 128 cases, Daegu 71 cases, Gyeongnam 42 cases, Chungnam 41 cases, Gyeongbuk 40 cases, Gangwon 26 cases, Jeonbuk 24 cases, Chungbuk 23 cases, Jeonnam 22 cases, Gwangju 16 cases, Daejeon 14 cases, Jeju 13 cases, and Ulsan 2 cases. There were no confirmed cases yet in Sejong.
Considering that the count closes at midnight, the number of confirmed cases is expected to increase further. On the previous day, the final daily new confirmed cases recorded 2,325, which was 720 more than the 6 p.m. count.
