The National Women CEO Management Training has been held nationwide in Seoul, Busan, Jeju, and other locations since 1999 to strengthen the capabilities of women entrepreneurs and foster business networking. It is the largest women entrepreneurs event in Korea, with over 10,000 participants to date.
This event was held for the first time in two years after being canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, under the slogan "2.77 Million Women Enterprises, A New Leap," hosted by the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association and sponsored by the Chungnam Provincial Government and Yesan County.
The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association stated that, in line with the With-Corona policy, the event was conducted safely by strictly adhering to government quarantine guidelines.
The main programs included a keynote speech by Lee Hee-beom, CEO of the Gyeongbuk Cultural Foundation (former Minister of Industry and Resources), on the theme "Women Enterprises Leading the Future of Korea," and an invited lecture by Park Jae-hee, CEO of the Humanities Management Institute, titled "Confucian Humanities Needed in Difficult Times."
Side events included the 'Corporate Management SOS' counseling desk to support resolving management difficulties faced by women enterprises, exhibition booths showcasing excellent women enterprises, and promotion of women enterprise support projects such as job platforms.
On the second day of the event, a kimchi-sharing volunteer activity and delivery ceremony were held to help marginalized neighbors have a warm winter.
The kimchi-sharing volunteer activity was hosted by the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association and sponsored by the NongHyup Chungnam-Sejong Regional Headquarters and Korea Western Power. About 40 executives of the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association, including Chairwoman Jung Yoon-sook, along with officials from the Chungnam Provincial Government and NongHyup, participated directly in making kimchi to share warmth with marginalized neighbors.
The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association donated a total of 7,500 kg of kimchi worth approximately 30 million KRW to the Community Chest of Korea. This will be delivered to marginalized neighbors in the Chungnam region.
