[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man in his 20s who sexually assaulted a hotel guest and illegally filmed the incident with his mobile phone was sentenced to prison.
According to the legal community on the 13th, the Criminal Division 11 of the Seoul Eastern District Court (Presiding Judge Yoon Kyung-ah) sentenced Mr. A (27), who was indicted for violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes (filming using a camera), to four years in prison. In addition, he was ordered to disclose and notify his personal information for five years, restrict employment at child and youth-related institutions for seven years, and wear an electronic ankle bracelet with location tracking for ten years.
Mr. A, who worked at a hotel located in Songpa-gu, was asked by Ms. B, a female guest staying in a room in the early morning of May 25, to find a lost ring. He searched the room and found the ring but did not return it and instead took it.
Later, Mr. A used the hotel master key to open the door of a temporary room he had guided Ms. B to, and sexually assaulted her while she was intoxicated and asleep. He also recorded the scene of the crime on his mobile phone.
It is known that Mr. A committed the crime again while on probation for a previous rape conviction.
