Gwangju Seo-gu Successfully Hosts 'Integrity Concert' for Public Officials

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City successfully concluded the ‘2021 Integrity Concert’ on the 11th for district office public officials to realize a clean and transparent Integrity Seo-gu.

According to Seo-gu on the 12th, this performance was organized in a concert format incorporating various cultural contents to make the somewhat heavy topic of integrity more accessible.

At the Integrity Concert, the following performances were presented: ▲ ‘Chunhyangga,’ a traditional pansori reinterpreted with a modern sensibility emphasizing the importance of practicing integrity values ▲ ‘How to Resist the Temptation of Manager Kim,’ a skit that naturally helps understand the purpose and key contents of the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act ▲ a sand art performance that reflects on the meaning of integrity in daily life.

After the sand art ended, the Seo-gu mayor engraved the phrase ‘Integrity Seo-gu with Fairness and Trust!’ on the sandboard, showing his commitment to an honest Seo-gu.

To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Seo-gu minimized on-site participants and conducted online education simultaneously so that all employees could participate.

Seo Dae-seok, mayor of Seo-gu, said, “The first virtue of public officials is integrity. In the past, integrity meant being free from bribery, corruption, and entertainment, but now citizens demand another kind of integrity such as kindness and fairness,” adding, “We emphasized administration that meets the citizens’ expectations.”
