Park Yonghwa, Gwangju Nam-gu Council Member, Receives 'Traffic Service Award'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] On the 12th, Park Yong-hwa, a member of the Gwangju Nam-gu Council, received the 'Traffic Service Award' at the 'Korea Arts and Culture Awards' held at the Penguin Village Craft Specialty Street in Yangnim-dong, Nam-gu.
Park was recognized for his contributions to traffic volunteer activities to ensure the safe commute of students at the crosswalks in front of Hakgang Elementary School in Yangnim-dong and Daeseong Elementary School in Sajik-dong.
Park is known as the 'King of Volunteering on Foot' due to his vigorous activities. He is also well-known for his drive to resolve residents' complaints on-site.
Councilor Park Yong-hwa said, "While volunteering for traffic guidance early in the morning, I realize there are many dangerous areas where commuting vehicles and students are mixed," and added, "I will strive to promote policies that make Nam-gu a good place to raise children and ensure student safety and parental peace of mind."
Meanwhile, this event was hosted by Korea Culture Sports Journal and the World Hallyu Festival Organizing Committee, and organized by Korea Culture Arts Education Institute Co., Ltd. and the Gwangju branch of the International Culture Arts Sports Foundation.
