[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 12th that it will showcase the brand's first luxury electric sedan, 'The new EQS,' for the first time in Korea at the 2021 Seoul Mobility Show to be held on the 25th.
The new EQS is the first to apply Mercedes-Benz's self-developed electric vehicle dedicated modular architecture.
The exterior is designed with a one-bow ratio like a single arc and a cab-forward design. With restrained lines and a sleek seamless design that reduces joints, it embodies Mercedes-EQ's design philosophy of 'Progressive Luxury.'
The MBUX Hyperscreen, where the entire instrument panel becomes one wide screen, is applied for the first time in the new EQS.
The company emphasized that together with the Active Ambient Light, which creates the desired style and atmosphere with 64 color lighting options, it completes the visual aesthetics of the entire interior.
The next-generation battery equipped in the new EQS can travel up to 478 km on a single charge (based on Ministry of Environment standards). It supports fast charging up to 200 kW, and it takes about 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% battery level.
The new EQS is also equipped with numerous advanced driving assistance and convenience features. The Driving Assistant Package, Mercedes-Benz's advanced driving assistance system, headlamps with DIGITAL LIGHT technology featuring a high-resolution lighting system, and an AR Head Up Display supporting augmented reality (AR) content are standard features.
