"Fined Because of You" 50s Man Threatens Store Employee with Weapon
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A man in his 50s who threatened a cellphone store employee who reported him with a weapon was arrested by the police.
The Gwanak Police Station in Seoul announced on the 10th that they have booked a man in his 50s, Mr. A, on charges of retaliatory threats under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
According to the police, Mr. A is suspected of threatening an employee with a weapon at a cellphone store located in Gwanak-gu around 4 p.m. the previous day.
Police investigation revealed that Mr. A had previously visited the store and damaged property, and after being fined for it, he committed the crime to protest.
The police, who responded to the report, apprehended Mr. A at the traffic island in front of Seoul National University Station.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated that he only showed the weapon as a warning.
