Yeosu Chamber of Commerce, "Hidden Champion Discovery Project for SMEs" Call for Applications
Encouraging Long-Term Employment and Fostering Pride Among Outstanding Employees of Small and Medium Enterprises
[Yeosu=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Sim Kyung-taek] The Yeosu Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jeollanam-do is calling for nominations for the "Hidden Champion of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Discovery Project" to identify workers who have made significant contributions to overcoming difficulties faced by SMEs.
The Hidden Champion of SMEs Discovery Project is a program implemented by the Yeosu Chamber of Commerce since 2019 as part of the "Yeosu Regional SME Revitalization Movement." It aims to boost the morale of employees working at SMEs, which form the backbone of Yeosu's economic vitality, and to encourage long-term retention of key personnel.
The "Hidden Champion of SMEs" refers to workers who have been employed at an SME for more than three years and have made remarkable contributions to the company's sales growth. In particular, it is defined as employees who have diligently fulfilled their assigned duties.
A representative of the Yeosu Chamber of Commerce stated, "Despite the volatile changes in the environment such as the global economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and changes in the employment environment, our local SMEs are quietly dedicating themselves to business activities as the backbone of Yeosu's economy." He added, "Through the Hidden Champion of SMEs Project, we hope that excellent employees of SMEs will take pride and contribute as important assets to their companies."
Applications for the Hidden Champion of SMEs support project will be accepted until November 30.
