Jangseong-gun, Fully Committed to Gradual Return to Normal Life Amid COVID-19
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, is drawing attention as it flexibly responds to the government’s revised ‘gradual recovery to daily life’ policy starting this month.
According to the county on the 10th, the ‘gradual recovery to daily life’ is a quarantine system that relaxes social distancing measures to fit the current situation while focusing on managing severe and critical patients.
The period will be implemented for four weeks until the 28th. Depending on the situation, an additional two-week evaluation period may be added.
Under the revised guidelines, private gatherings are allowed up to 12 people regardless of vaccination status, but in restaurants and cafes, unvaccinated individuals are limited to a maximum of four people.
Events and assemblies can have up to 99 participants regardless of vaccination status, and if all participants are fully vaccinated or have confirmed negative diagnostic test results, up to 499 people can participate.
There are no longer time restrictions on the use of multi-use facilities. However, only those who have completed vaccination or have confirmed negative diagnostic test results are allowed to use them.
Entertainment facilities can only be used by those who have completed vaccination, and operating hours are until midnight.
Religious facilities can have up to 50% of their capacity attend regardless of vaccination status, and if all attendees are fully vaccinated, there are no restrictions on participation.
With the implementation of the gradual recovery to daily life guidelines, the number of participants in sports, cultural, and religious activities is expected to increase, and the county has taken quarantine measures in line with the relaxed guidelines.
Additionally, the ‘1:1 Dedicated Public Official System’ continues, assigning responsible officials to manage high-risk multi-use facilities such as PC rooms and karaoke rooms.
However, on-site inspections, which were previously conducted uniformly once or twice a week, will now be carried out by each department according to the situation.
As the importance of quarantine management increases for places with large gatherings such as restaurants, cafes, Jangseongho Lakeside Trail, Hwangryonggang River, and Baekyangsa Temple, management and guidance will be conducted frequently not only on weekdays but also on Saturdays and Sundays.
Indoor sports facilities operated by the county, such as Hong Gildong Gymnasium and swimming pools, will strictly manage entry by confirming vaccination status and negative diagnostic test results, and will be disinfected regularly every day.
Meanwhile, additional vaccine doses (booster shots) are currently being administered to high-risk groups aged 75 and older who completed vaccination more than six months ago, and those aged 60 and older.
The second phase of vaccination targets include people in their 50s, those with underlying conditions, and Janssen vaccine recipients, starting from mid-month.
County Governor Yoo Doo-seok said, “Although social distancing and other measures have been further relaxed by applying the government’s gradual recovery to daily life guidelines, the risk of infection has not decreased,” and added, “We will not loosen the reins on quarantine efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
