Korea Federation of SMEs Calls for Organizations to Participate in Overseas Marketing Support Project Until the 26th
Recruitment of Lead Organizations for the '2022 Export Consortium Project' Begins
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business (KSMB) announced on the 10th that it is recruiting lead organizations to participate in the '2022 Export Consortium Project,' which supports overseas marketing for companies in the same or similar industries to help SMEs explore overseas markets.
The Export Consortium Project is an export support program in which KSMB provides expenses such as rental and installation costs necessary for SMEs to participate in overseas exhibitions or export consultation meetings, and assists with overseas marketing activities before and after overseas dispatches.
Considering changes in the export environment due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the support scope is expanded to include not only offline face-to-face overseas exhibitions and export consultation meetings but also online overseas exhibitions.
To reduce the burden on participating SMEs, direct expenses by project stage, including rental and installation costs, will be supported by up to 70% from the national treasury.
To enhance the performance of online projects, overseas marketing promotion expenses will be increased from 1 million KRW to 2 million KRW per company, and reflecting difficulties caused by increased logistics costs due to COVID-19, sample shipping costs will also be increased.
Lead organizations eligible to participate in the project include non-profit industry organizations related to SMEs such as SME cooperatives, industry-specific organizations, and associations, as well as export-related institutions, specialized trading companies, and exhibition specialist companies in the private sector.
Applications can be submitted online through the 'SME Overseas Exhibition Portal' until the 26th, and for more details, inquiries can be made to the Trade Promotion Department of KSMB.
