Shinsegae International to Showcase Technology at K-Expo Participation
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Shinsegae International has been recognized for its in-house cosmetic technology and will participate as an exemplary case in a government-led Hallyu event.
Shinsegae International will participate as an outstanding company in skin characteristic data and customized cosmetics at the ‘2021 K-Expo,’ hosted by six government ministries including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, until the 11th.
The ‘2021 K-Expo’ is an event that integrates previously separately held Hallyu events by various government ministries. It is planned to promote Hallyu products and support the overseas expansion of related industries by linking online and offline channels throughout November, leading the globalization of Hallyu. Various fields such as Hallyu content, which has recently gained worldwide popularity, cosmetics, food, agricultural products, and daily necessities will be introduced.
Shinsegae International will exhibit its beauty brands Yeonjak and Vidi Vici at the K-Beauty space hosted by the Korea Cosmetic Industry Institute within the Ministry of Health and Welfare booth at the COEX Grand Ballroom. They will introduce customized products for sensitive skin developed by analyzing sensitive skin type data and present research achievements and papers to widely promote their proprietary technology domestically and internationally.
First, Yeonjak will showcase the ‘Calming and Comforting Ampoule,’ launched in June targeting the sensitive skin market. This product was developed by analyzing sensitive skin type data and understanding the impact of skin temperature on sensitivity. It is an ampoule that lowers skin temperature and provides soothing effects.
The Calming and Comforting Ampoule contains the exclusive ingredient ‘Sophora Flavescens Extract.’ Yeonjak developed Sophora Flavescens Extract as a proprietary material through research on the efficacy of Sophora Flavescens, and co-authored a paper on its effects, which was published in the Journal of the Korean Society of Cosmetic Scientists.
Vidi Vici will exhibit and introduce the cleansing foam ‘Mild Amino Facial Foam,’ launched in August. The ‘Mild Amino Facial Foam’ is a low-irritant cleanser containing 100% amino acid-based surfactants developed through patented technology. Domestic patent applications have been completed, and patent applications in China are currently underway.
Amino acid surfactants derived from amino acids, which are skin components, cause less skin irritation but alone have difficulty producing rich foam or high cleansing power. Therefore, Vidi Vici partnered with Kolmar Korea for joint research and development, resulting in a product that overcomes the formulation and cleansing limitations of existing amino acid surfactants.
