View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance Hong Nam-ki stated on the 9th that he conveyed concerns to the U.S. side regarding Samsung and SK Hynix providing semiconductor supply chain data to the U.S. Department of Commerce.
At the plenary session of the National Assembly Budget and Accounts Special Committee on the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Hong responded to the U.S. semiconductor information request by saying, "I, along with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the head of the Trade Negotiation Headquarters, conveyed concerns to our U.S. partners."
Deputy Prime Minister Hong said, "While cooperating together, we have conveyed special concerns regarding sensitive information, and the U.S. side is fully aware of this," adding, "I understand that the extent to which sensitive information can be disclosed was entirely decided by the companies themselves when submitting the data."

The U.S. Department of Commerce demanded global companies to submit semiconductor inventory quantities, order details, sales by product, and customer information, stating it would conduct its own investigation of the semiconductor supply chain situation. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix announced that they submitted the data excluding sensitive information on the same day.
