Amid the nationwide shortage of urea water caused by China's export ban, a transportation company in Pohang, Gyeongbuk, has donated 200 liters of this precious urea water, as rare as wild ginseng.
To resolve difficulties in operating household waste collection and transportation vehicles, Hyeonam Logistics in Ocheon-eup, Pohang City, willingly took out 200 liters from its warehouse and donated it free of charge.
CEO Nam Hyo-guk heard that the shortage of urea water could put the operation of household waste collection and transportation vehicles in Pohang City at risk.
He had some stock on hand. However, his company could not withstand a prolonged crisis. He decided to help Pohang's "garbage trucks" first.
In Pohang City, about 80 diesel vehicles, including household waste collection and food waste transportation vehicles, are in operation. They have secured about a month's supply of urea water through self-procurement to prepare for the situation, but if the crisis prolongs, securing additional reserves is urgently needed.
