806kg of Shine Muscat exported to Vietnam... 3,800kg of apples and 288kg of Shine Muscat exported to Russia
[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju-gun announced on the 9th that Muju-grown Shine Muscat grapes and Gucheon-dong apples, which have recently gained popularity among consumers, will be exported for the first time to Vietnam and Russia, respectively.
According to the county, first, 806kg of Muju Shine Muscat grapes will be shipped to Vietnam.
Additionally, 3,800kg of Gucheon-dong apples and 288kg of Muju Shine Muscat grapes will be exported to Russia.
In particular, the Muju Shine Muscat grapes being exported this time are popular fruits recently gaining attention due to their high sugar content. With their first export to Vietnam and Russia, new possibilities as a key income source for local farmers have opened up.
To commemorate the grape export to Vietnam, Muju-gun held a ceremony on the 9th at Muju Meeting Square attended by officials including Hwang In-hong, the head of Muju-gun, Jang Kyung-min, deputy head of the Jeonbuk branch of Nonghyup, Kwak Dong-yeol, chairman of Muju Nonghyup, and Yang Seung-wook, chairman of Gucheon-dong Nonghyup.
Hwang In-hong, head of Muju-gun, said, “Muju-grown Shine Muscat grapes and apples have high sugar content and excellent quality, making them popular varieties sought after by enthusiasts both domestically and internationally. Taking this export as an opportunity, we will strive to secure export contracts with many countries overseas beyond Vietnam and Russia to greatly contribute to farmers' income.”
