'Environmental Cleaner Recruitment Corruption' Jeonnam Naju City Under Prosecutor's Search and Seizure
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Naju City in Jeonnam was subjected to a prosecution raid regarding allegations of corruption in the hiring of sanitation workers.
According to Naju City, the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office sent investigators to the Naju Mayor's Office and the Communication Policy Office on the 9th to secure related materials.
It was confirmed that another person was additionally involved in the corruption case, leading to a second raid following the one in June.
A Grade 6 public official in Naju City, Mr. A, is suspected of illegally intervening in the hiring of sanitation workers after receiving 30 million won from a broker.
Currently, the Anti-Corruption Investigation Unit 1 of the Jeonnam Police Agency has sent four people, including two public officials such as Mr. A, to the prosecution on charges including violation of the Attorney-at-Law Act.
This case first came to light when a local councilor of Naju City raised suspicions.
