[AKyung Poll] Daejangdong Development Project, 58.2% Say 'Lee Jae-myung Bears Major Responsibility'
'Candidate Lee is responsible' 58.2%
Responsibility theory high except for 40s and Honam
'People Power Party responsible' response is 33.3%
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] In response to the question of who holds greater responsibility for the Daejang-dong development project allegations between Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, and the People Power Party, 58.2% answered that the responsibility lies with candidate Lee, exceeding the majority.
On the 9th, Asia Economy commissioned Win-G Korea Consulting to conduct a public opinion survey (100% mobile phone virtual numbers, automated response) targeting 1,005 voters aged 18 and over nationwide from the 6th to 7th. When asked, "Between the claim that candidate Lee is more responsible for the Daejang-dong development project and the claim that the People Power Party is more responsible, which do you agree with more?" 58.2% responded that candidate Lee is responsible, while 33.3% said the People Power Party was responsible. 8.5% answered that they did not know.
Compared to the previous survey conducted in the fourth week of October, the response that "candidate Lee Jae-myung is more responsible" increased by 4.5 percentage points, while the response that "the People Power Party is more responsible" decreased by 4.2 percentage points. This reflects a resurgence of the "Lee Jae-myung responsibility theory," likely influenced by the recent arrest of former Seongnam Urban Development Corporation Planning Director Yoo Dong-gyu amid no progress in investigations involving former special prosecutor Park Young-soo and former Supreme Court Justice Kwon Soon-il.
The opinion that "candidate Lee is more responsible" was high across most groups except for those in their 40s (43.0%) and the Honam region (25.3%). It was particularly strong among those in their 20s (68.8%) and those aged 60 and over (69.7%), as well as in Seoul (68.4%) and the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region (67.3%).
