Samyangsa SubQ Reveals 3 Christmas Cake Recipes
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] Samyang Corporation, a food and chemical affiliate of Samyang Group, announced on the 9th that it has released three Christmas cake recipes independently developed by a pastry chef belonging to its food ingredient distribution brand ‘SubQ’ on the SubQ website and distributed Christmas cake promotional posters for free.
The new recipes and promotional posters, jointly provided for free every year by SubQ and the Korea Confectionery Association, help strengthen the competitiveness of small-scale bakeries that find it difficult to develop new menus compared to franchise bakeries. The promotional posters were distributed to more than 6,400 bakeries nationwide, easing the workload of self-employed bakeries that find it difficult to produce their own promotional materials. This activity, conducted as part of win-win management, began in earnest with the launch of SubQ in 2013, and over eight years, promotional posters have been distributed to about 50,000 bakeries nationwide.
The newly developed recipes this year were created to evoke snow-covered natural scenery, considering the prolonged difficulty of traveling due to COVID-19. The ‘White Forest Christmas Cake’ uses cake sponge and whipped cream to represent a log and snowman on a snow-covered Swiss hill. The ‘Merry Meringue Cherry Fondant Cake’ features a chocolate sheet with dark cherries topped with torch-browned meringue, reminiscent of snow-covered mountain peaks.

Meanwhile, Samyang’s SubQ plans to demonstrate various menus such as bread and dessert bread at the ‘2021 3rd Confectionery and Bakery Technology Seminar,’ held non-face-to-face with the Korea Confectionery Association on the 19th. SubQ’s professional chefs continuously develop recipes reflecting trends and provide them free of charge to food service workers and prospective entrepreneurs through seminars.
