Hampyeong-gun Awards 220 Million Won in Scholarships to 114 Talented Students
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County will provide scholarships totaling 220 million KRW to 114 university students selected as Hampyeong County Talent Development Fund scholars for the second half of 2021.
According to Hampyeong County, Jeollanam-do, from September 3 to September 17, 128 applicants were received through a public announcement. After a rigorous review by the County Talent Development Promotion Committee, a total of 114 scholars were finally selected, including 27 students from universities in the Seoul metropolitan area and 87 students from universities outside the metropolitan area.
The "Local Talent Category" scholarship, newly established this year, provides up to 3 million KRW for students in the Seoul metropolitan area and up to 2.5 million KRW for students outside the metropolitan area. Students who received scholarships in the first half of the year are also eligible for additional support.

County Governor Lee Sang-ik emphasized, "We will actively support university students from Hampyeong so that they can focus on their studies without worrying about tuition fees."
