Busan City Builds Vental Green Oak LEED-Certified Eco-Friendly Logistics Center
Strengthening Export-Import Companies' Logistics Competitiveness, Creating Jobs through E-Commerce Collaboration
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The global real estate investment company Ventall Green Oak is set to build a logistics center in Busan.
Busan City announced that on the 9th at 3 p.m., it will sign a "Business Agreement for the Construction of Ventall Green Oak Busan Logistics Center" with Ventall Green Oak and the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority at Busan City Hall.
The signing ceremony will be attended by Park Hyung-joon, Mayor of Busan, Kim Hee-soo, CEO of Ventall Green Oak Korea, Cha Seok-ho, Acting Head of the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority, and Oh Won-se, Busan City Council member, among others.
Ventall Green Oak, a global real estate investment company headquartered in New York, USA, will invest 289 billion KRW (68.1 billion KRW in foreign capital) to build the "BGO Busan Logistics Center" in the hinterland international industrial logistics city of Busan New Port.
The logistics center is expected to employ approximately 760 people over the next five years.
Additionally, the BGO Busan Logistics Center will be constructed as an eco-friendly building through LEED certification.
LEED is a U.S. green building certification system awarded to environmentally friendly buildings. It is applied in construction considering sustainable site planning that does not harm the surrounding environment, energy and resource savings, and indoor environmental quality.
Ventall Green Oak, which manages approximately 80 trillion KRW in funds globally across Asia, the Americas, and Europe, has been selected as an ESG management leader in the "Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB)" for 11 consecutive years as of this year.
The company is evaluated as one that aims for high performance in non-financial factors such as environment, society, and corporate governance. It has also announced a goal to achieve carbon neutrality across all its real estate investment portfolios by 2050.
