Yeonggwang-gun Successfully Concludes 'University Student Smart e-Mobility Competition'

[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (County Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 8th that the '2021 University Student Smart e-Mobility Competition' was held for three days from the 5th to the 7th at the Daema e-Mobility Research Center.

The competition, hosted by the county and the Korean Society of Automotive Engineers, saw participation from 46 teams representing 41 universities nationwide.

The grand prize was awarded to Doowon Technical University (T21E), with five other teams receiving awards.

Now in its second year, this competition features university students designing and manufacturing their own vehicles, aiming to discover and nurture key talents who will lead the future automotive industry.

Notably, this year’s competition showcased vehicles directly produced by students from the Yeonggwang Technical High School e-Mobility Department, who are expected to lead the e-mobility industry.

They participated as interns from universities in the Honam region, gaining hands-on experience in vehicle manufacturing methods on site.

County Governor Kim Junsung said, “We could feel the passionate enthusiasm of the talents who will lead the future automotive industry,” adding, “The experience gained through participating and competing in the competition will be an invaluable asset for the students.”
